Spinnaker
Broker and IRP Research Invoicing and Contract Management
For brokers and research providers
The purpose-built research invoicing system for brokers and research providers.
Spinnaker is where a broker-dealer, research broker or independent research provider runs the money side of research: pricing agreements, quotes and renewals, the interactions each client is owed a record of, and the invoices that follow. One portal, configured to the parts of the process a firm actually uses.
Invoices move from draft or proforma through sending, reminders, collection and credit memos, on templates that carry the right banking details, disclaimers and tax treatment for each client. Payments can be recorded in Spinnaker or fed from your accounting system.
What it does
- Invoice templates per client type
- Different templates for different customers, banking and disclaimer text, and tax treatment, scheduled uniformly or client by client.
- Interaction management
- Each interaction with a client, from an analyst call to a roadshow, captured from your CRM or calendar and delivered in the format and to the aggregator that client uses, with the ones they do not want to see filtered out but kept for internal review.
- Price catalog
- Every service, bespoke and platform charge in one place.
- Quotes and negotiations
- Quote approvals, with pricing and negotiation notes kept against each sales and renewal opportunity.
- Pricing agreements
- Per-product, retainer, matrix or utilization structures, with each client's agreement and the updates along the way.
- VAT by jurisdiction
- Where research payments carry VAT, the rate for each jurisdiction is applied on the invoice.
- Revenue against budget
- What each client budgeted to pay you against what has been collected, with monthly statements, a client portal login, and past-due letters when needed.
- Payment allocation
- Payments received, directly or through an aggregator, allocated to business units, regions, teams or individuals on a pre-approved or consumption-weighted basis.
